What Is Breathwork?
Trauma-informed breathwork is an incredibly simple therapeutic practice that uses intentional breathing techniques to relax your nervous system, release stress, and nourish your mind and body.
Forms of breathwork have been practiced for centuries all over the world.
Breathwork is for the purpose of helping you heal yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally.
If you ever find yourself:
- Stressed beyond belief from multitasking and taking care of everyone else’s needs
- Struggling to fall or stay asleep at night because your mind is spinning faster than a caffeinated hamster on a wheel
- Dragging in the mornings and reaching for another cup of coffee since bone-aching fatigue seems to be your new normal as a parent
- Putting yourself last after the kids, spouse, house, dogs, bills and everything else (self care? What’s that)
- Anxiously spinning in negative thoughts that won’t slow down long enough for you to get off the merry-go-round of your mind
Then breathwork may be able to help.
- Imagine having a simple tool in your back pocket that you can pull out to calm yourself down and feel *really* good in less than 10 minutes.
- Imagine knowing exactly how to respond to stressful situations.
- And imagine being able to relax your mind enough to actually fall asleep at night.

It’s easy to become overwhelmed by stress and feel out of control. When you focus on breathing, you allow your body the chance to reset and recover from the negative side effects of stress.

When you feel stressed, your breath tends to become fast and shallow which limits the oxygen entering your bloodstream. Your body then goes into fight-or-flight mode.

When you take time to slow down and purposefully breathe deeply and slowly, you tell your brain that everything is OK. Your brain communicates to your body that it’s safe to relax.
