How do you know this is for you?

Well...do either of these scenarios sound familiar?

1. From the neck down, you don’t feel much of anything. You find yourself getting stuck in mental spirals, and stories about what other people think about you to the point where you feel overwhelmed and either shut down or explode.

That’s because your body is telling you something.

Plus, it affects how you show up in your business…

  • Piling things onto your to-do list to avoid being alone with your feelings, and doing your best to stay busy to keep yourself from dwelling on it too much
  • Jumping from one task to the next without much thought (social media to Messenger to emails to client delivery to marketing, etc) and then blaming it on your ADHD or shaming yourself for your “your lack of focus”
  • Constantly switching hats because, whether you realize it or not, your body is primed for looking for a threat and so you need control over all elements in order to survive.
  • Freezing up when it comes to posting on social media; avoiding sales activities; getting heart-pounding anxiety when a client private messages you and you’re afraid there’s bad news in the message

Doing nothing isn’t an option anymore…

The physical symptoms might be getting more intense. The feeling of a pressure cooker inside your chest is only getting louder.
The warning bells in your system are going off constantly, begging for your attention.

Here’s The Truth About Your Emotional Self

So often, we move from a place of believing what I call Core Lies.

The core lies that say I’m worthless, powerless, helpless or unlovable. 

When you operate from your Core Lies, you find yourself in a painful cycle where you constantly feel stuck, emotionally volatile, and looking around feeling like people don’t love you or hear you or understand YOU. 

Taking action feels like trying to move feet that are trapped in cement blocks. 

Creating content for your business feels about as attractive as listening to a toddler scream. 

Why is it so hard???  Well, it's because…

Your body is more powerful than the social programming in your mind. 

I’m a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. I’ve battled with SEVERE anxiety and depression for years. I’ve lived with and healed multiple chronic auto-immune conditions. 

And I grew up in a highly-controlling cult, where I was taught that the place of a woman was beneath a man. 

If I didn’t figure out how to heal myself, I wasn’t going to make it.

You probably already know that events that happen to you as a kid have a profound impact on how you operate as an adult. 

We build associations based on events that happen to us when we’re young. And those associations become beliefs that manifest into behaviors. 

As children, we learn ways to operate that will keep us alive. 

For some of us, that may have been literal.

For me, I developed hyper-vigilance.
My body immediately checks the energy of a room to see if it’s safe because so often as a child, my environment was literally dangerous. I never knew if an abuser was in the room so I was constantly on alert.
As an adult, those behaviors started to become problematic.

I’m safe now. I know this.

But my body still checks for threats, so I get to meet my body in that process and make a conscious decision about how I’m spending my energy. 

If I don’t consciously choose a new response, then my body will spend all of my energy looking for a threat that doesn’t exist. 

This is a HUGE reason why entrepreneurial women feel SO exhausted all the time.

Here’s the bottom line…

There’s nothing wrong with you.

You are not broken. You are not a mistake. You are not a burden.

You are a human being. And you have needs. 

The ways you’ve met those needs in the past are no longer helpful.

In fact, they may be hurting you.

You get to choose how to meet those needs now as an adult.

About Karla Snow

Karla Snow is the co-founder of My Story Economy with her husband Kam Snow, founder of Fireproof Entrepreneur, and founder and facilitator of the Deep Breath membership. 

Growing up in a brick-n-mortar entrepreneur family, she was surrounded by the ins and outs of business building and strategy.

Before coming into the online space, she worked with at-risk teens who’d been rescued from sex trafficking. She formally studied Psychology and Sports Medicine at Sacramento State University. And grew a personal obsession for studying anything she could on Psychology, Neuroscience, Therapeutic Modalities, Biomechanics, Recreational Therapy, and so much more.

She was also a core team member for a 7-figure online coaching business that served wellness professionals and was a core part of scaling that business to multi-7 figures. At one point, she was responsible for 30 one-on-one coaching clients and 30 clients in the group coaching model. She coached on mindset, sales, and marketing.

Now, she helps women master the tools of somatic regulation, energetic resourcing, and addressing the Core Lies that create micro and macro trauma so they can fully step into God’s calling for their life.
